Enhancing Urban Resilience and Sustainability through UK-India Collaboration

This project empowers early career researchers (ECRs) from the UK and India to tackle global challenges such as environmental protection and sustainable urban development. Focusing on “smart, sustainable, and green” (SSG) cities, the initiative combines international collaboration, creative workshops, and practical training.

Principle Investigator

Dr Javidroozi is specialising in Smart City Systems and Information Systems Engineering (ISE).

Prof. Cham Athwal

Prof. Athwal has played a major role in developing the Munjal BCU Centre of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ludhiana in India: a partnership between BCU and the charitable foundation of the Hero Group of companies.

Dr. Neeta Raj Sharma

Dr. Raj Sharma is a researcher advancing UN SDGs through work in wastewater management and the green circular economy, promoting sustainable urban development.

Dr Suruchi Jindal

Co-Principle Investigator

Dr. Suruchi specializes in Agricultural Biotechnology, using advanced genomics to enhance disease resistance in crops. Her research supports urban agriculture and sustainability by developing climate-resilient, nutrient-efficient crops for urban and peri-urban areas.

Dr. Prem Kumar

Dr. Abdul Qayoom Hamal

Lecturer Computer Science, Birmingham City University.

Dr. Abdul Qayoom is a co-principal investigator and early career researcher on the project.
