Enhancing Urban Resilience and Sustainability through UK-India Collaboration

This project empowers early career researchers (ECRs) from the UK and India to tackle global challenges such as environmental protection and sustainable urban development. Focusing on “smart, sustainable, and green” (SSG) cities, the initiative combines international collaboration, creative workshops, and practical training.

Organise an International Symposium in India on SSG Cities, to introduce collaborative research frameworks and
initiate research between ECRs from both countries.

Develop Early Career Researchers' Research Capability through Structured Training, Collaborative Research, and Paper Development.

Conduct a comparative feasibility study to evaluate the socio-economic and technological readiness of Ludhiana (India) and Birmingham (UK) for implementing Smart, Sustainable, and Green (SSG) solutions. The study will also analyze the adaptability of these practices across both cities, identifying key challenges and opportunities for effective cross-border collaboration and implementation.

Disseminate research findings and promote knowledge exchange by hosting a hybrid seminar in the UK, strengthening early career researcher (ECR) networks, and sharing insights through a comprehensive report. The project will also publish the feasibility study and research outcomes in high-quality academic journals to guide future directions in Smart, Sustainable, and Green (SSG) city development.
